The way the Refill Fix works is by simply attaching a water bottle to the female thread holder and inverting it, the base is attached to the side of the aquarium wall / window with small hoses to let air seep in and water to to drip outside. There are adapters for a few different aquarium wall thicknesses from 3 to 10 millimeters, and the size of your reservoir ultimately depends on the size of the bottle you use for this purpose.

Be careful with the system, the larger the bottle, the more careful it is to handle. For example, do not bump the bottle, it can damage / break the glass.
