Orthophosphates occur in natural waters and wastewater. They are often added to drinking water as a corrosion inhibitor. The analysis of orthophosphates by colorimetric determination provides rapid results using a standard analytical technique.
Developed as a more accurate alternative to chemical test kits, the Hanna Checker®HC provides fast, accurate results in four easy steps.

The checkers are designed to fit perfectly in the palm and pocket, while the large LCD is easy to read. The automatic switch-off ensures that the battery life is extended.

TIPS FOR ACCURATE MEASUREMENTS

• It is important that the sample to be measured does not contain any suspended particles or is stained.
• The outside of the cuvette must be clean and dry.
• Shaking the cuvette can cause air bubbles to form, which give erroneous readings. Remove the air bubbles by gently moving the cuvette in circles or by gently tapping the cuvette.
• Continue with the measurement procedure immediately after adding the reagent.
• Always work with a timer, in order to perform every measurement in exactly the same way (time). Difference in the 2 minutes of shaking (eg 1:50 one time and 2:05 another time can already give a different result)
• Rinse the cuvette immediately after use to prevent reagents (=dye) build-up
• The cuvette must also always remain clean on the inside.
