Until recently, the starters manual issued by the NBBZ (Dutch & Belgian Association of Marine Aquarium Associations) was the source of information for starting aquarium enthusiasts. This Starter’s manual was written by Tanne Hoff. Tanne Hoff’s new book “Practical instructions for the marine aquarium” omits the then Starter Manual. This new book is aimed at starters and advanced students who want to have all the necessary (basic) knowledge neatly bundled in a compact and clearly written reference work. Surprisingly few words are needed to explain the fundamentals of marine aquaristics.

Meanwhile, the book “Practical guide to the marine aquarium” is well known. The first edition was received with rave reviews. This is the second edition, completely revised and revised. The book covers 56 pages in full color and describes modern sea aquaristics. In addition to the base, LED, nano-aquariums, biopellets, pest recognition and control and the different animals are all discussed. The book contains numerous practical tips that are directly applicable to make the aquarium even more beautiful and healthier. The chemistry is explained understandably in an appendix.

Tanne Hoff teaches biology and has more than twenty years of experience with various marine aquariums. This experience combined with insights gained during many dives in coral reefs around the world led to the book “Practical guide to the marine aquarium”.
