Salifert Boron 250 ml is a necessary trace element. Too low concentration of boron slows the growth of corals and lime algae
Contains mixed, boron-containing salts.
Reef Boron
Why is boron needed?
Boron is present in NSW (Natural Sea Water) at a moderately low concentration (4.4 to 4.8 mg / l or ppm). It is predominantly present as boric acid and, to a lesser extent, borate. It has several important biological functions and our results show that too low a concentration of boron could slow down the growth of corals and calcified weeds.
Borium also has a positive effect on NSW buffering. Particularly at a pH of 8.1 to 8.3.
In most aquariums, boron reduces slowly but gradually. In some aquariums, boron is present in a high concentration. This is due to the use of a poor quality salt with a very high boron concentration or by supplements with an increased boron concentration.
