It is a highly concentrated, fast-dissolving powder that increases alkalinity (carbonate hardness) and stabilizes the pH at the correct value. In this way, it contributes significantly to the health of all aquarium inhabitants, including corals, coral algae and fish.

Within 24 hours, it gets the pH corresponding to other aquarium parameters. If the pH remains low within 24 hours of corrective action, an insufficient gaseous exchange (inefficient aeration) is often the cause.

Salifert KH pH buffer Dosage:
Depending on the packaging, either a measuring cup (graduations at 10 and 20 ml) or a measuring scoop is included (7 level scoops = 10 ml). Add it in a high flow area or pre-dissolve it in some fresh water (4 fl. Oz. Water for every 10 ml of powder).

Each 10 ml of powder per 25 gallons increases the alkalinity by approximately 1.2 meq / L.
This corresponds to an increase in the carbonate hardness by 3.3 German carbonate hardness (dKH).

To keep your corals and beautiful crusting algae in good health, you need an alkalinity of about. 2.8 – 3.2 meq / L or 7.8 – 9 dKH expressed in German carbonate hardness.
