Ecotech Marine Vortech MP10mQD QuietDrive aquarium flow pump (mobius)
VorTech pumps are designed to mimic the ocean in the aquarium. Due to the wide, adjustable flow, the possibilities are endless. The VorTech pumps are equipped with a magnetic coupling, so the motor part is outside the aquarium on the window. The advantage is that the heat from the motor and the cables is not in the water.
All ‘w’ pumps are fitted with an ‘RF’ module as standard. This module ensures that up to 8 pumps can be connected. In this way they can work together synchronously, non-synchronously and via different modes.
All VorTech pumps can be connected to a Battery Backup, so power outages are no longer a problem.
The ReefLink makes controlling and monitoring the pumps even easier. Everything wirelessly via laptop, telephone, iPad etc.

Vortech MP10wQD MODES
Simulates a low energy lagoon environment. The speed of the pump is changed slowly to simulate the gentle currents of a lagoon.
Reef Crest Mode
Reef Crest Random mode simulates a high-energy reef environment. The pump will change speed periodically and drastically to simulate crashing waves and rising tide. This is a favorite of SPS coral.
Gyre Mode
Gyre mode creates a flow pattern consisting of smooth clockwise and * anti-clockwise flow levels, pulsing at a selected interval between two seconds and two hours.
* Alternating directional gyre requires multiple pumps.
Short Pulse Mode
Short Pulse mode creates a flow pattern consisting of smooth high and low pulses at a selected interval between 0.2 seconds and 2 seconds.
Tidal Swell Mode
Tidal Swell mode (TSM) creates a harmonic balance reminiscent of the changing flow conditions in nature. Over the course of several hours, the flow pattern will go from very chaotic to calm, followed by a wave of waste removal at the end of the cycle. The flow direction will change direction with each cycle.
Nutrient Transport Mode
Nutrient Transport mode (NTM) creates circulation in a two-phase program. The first stage uses wave motion to generate waste. The second stage follows with an upward movement to move the debris into the overflow and out of the aquarium. This mode promotes maximum health, nutrient exports, and increased growth for sensitive corals such as SPS.
Feed Mode
At the push of a button, all VorTech® wireless activated pumps will temporarily pause their current mode and be inactive, allowing food to be added to the tank without having to cycle into the overflow and filtration.
Night Mode
Pumps can be turned on to run a gentler night program that simulates calmer ocean conditions for night hours.
Wave Auto-Tune
Create a standing wave in your aquarium and demonstrate the true power of the fully operational VorTech® QuietDrive® control system.
Multi-Pump Communication
All VorTech® pumps marked “w” come with an installed RF module. The RF module allows up to 8 “w” pumps of each type to work together in synchronous, anti-synchronization or coordinated modes.
Battery Backup Mode
Snowstorm. Hurricane. A motorist hits a utility pole. Things happen. The power goes out … VorTech® pumps are compatible with the EcoTech® Battery Backup accessory.
