The VorTech pumps are engineered to replicate ocean-like conditions within your aquarium. Thanks to their wide and adjustable flow, the possibilities for water movement are virtually limitless. These pumps feature a magnetic coupling, allowing the motor to sit outside the aquarium, which means that heat from the motor and cables does not enter the water.
All VorTech pumps come standard with an RF module, enabling you to connect up to eight pumps. This allows them to work together in both synchronous and non-synchronous modes across various settings. Additionally, every VorTech pump can connect to a Battery Backup, ensuring that power outages are no longer a concern. The ReefLink further simplifies controlling and monitoring the pumps wirelessly from your laptop, phone, or tablet.

Vortech MP10wQD MODES
FLOW
Lagoon Mode
Simulates a low energy lagoon environment. The pump speed gradually changes to mimic the gentle currents found in a lagoon.
Reef Crest Mode
Reef Crest Random mode mimics a high-energy reef environment. The pump speed changes periodically and drastically to replicate crashing waves and rising tides, making it a favorite for SPS corals.
Gyre Mode
Gyre mode creates a flow pattern with smooth clockwise and anti-clockwise movements, pulsing at intervals between two seconds and two hours. This mode is most effective with multiple pumps.
Short Pulse Mode
Short Pulse mode generates a flow pattern of smooth high and low pulses at intervals between 0.2 seconds and 2 seconds.
Tidal Swell Mode
Tidal Swell mode creates a harmonic balance that reflects the natural flow conditions. Over several hours, the flow transitions from chaotic to calm, concluding with a wave that removes waste.
Nutrient Transport Mode
Nutrient Transport mode operates in two phases, first using wave motion to generate waste and then moving debris into the overflow for removal. This mode encourages health, nutrient export, and growth in sensitive corals like SPS.
FUNCTION
Feed Mode
With a simple button press, all VorTech wireless pumps will pause their current operation. This allows food to be added to the tank without being filtered away.
Night Mode
Pumps can be switched to a gentler night mode that mimics calmer ocean conditions during nighttime.
Wave Auto-Tune
Create a standing wave in your aquarium and showcase the full capability of the VorTech QuietDrive control system.
CAPABILITY
Multi-Pump Communication
All VorTech pumps labeled with a “w” come with an RF module pre-installed. This module enables up to eight “w” pumps to work together in various synchronized or coordinated modes.
Battery Backup Mode
Whether it is a snowstorm, hurricane, or an unexpected power outage, VorTech pumps are compatible with the EcoTech Battery Backup accessory to keep your aquarium running smoothly.
