For a beautiful sand bottom paradise there is coral sand, gravel aquarium in many grain sizes, the most common size is between 1 mm and 3 mm. Living sand has the advantage that it gives a boost to the good bacterial population in the sandy soil. rocks which actually only has advantages, such as that it contains no unwanted substances or pests, also the reefs in the oceans are not affected. Real Reef Rock and Marco Rocks are popular, and recently a very affordable rock (base rock) from Indonesia is also available. The stone together with added bacteria ensures a good start-up of the seawater aquarium.
