Carbon, in the form of CO2 dissolved in the water, is one of the most important nutrients for optimal plant growth. When there is a lack of carbon, plants cannot absorb nutrients effectively and grow as they should. This deficiency can lead to plants ceasing their growth and losing the ability to compete with algae for essential nutrients. If the carbon shortage persists for too long, plants may start to leak sugars and other nutrients, which can attract algae. Consequently, leaves may become covered in algae, making them appear unattractive.
EasyCarbo is the solution to this problem. After approximately two weeks of using EasyCarbo, you will notice that your plants grow better and look healthier. This is especially true for swamp plants like Cryptocoryne and Echinodorus. With increased competition for nutrients, algae find it very difficult to survive and, in most cases, they will disappear altogether.
The combination of ProFito and EasyCarbo is the right choice. Plants require more than just carbon; trace elements are also essential. Since the exact presence of these trace elements cannot be precisely measured, we recommend using ProFito to enrich the water with trace elements in a comprehensive way.
Dosage:
Every day, use 1 ml per 50 liters, with a maximum of 2 ml per 50 liters.
Usage Tips
- Aquarium with only a few plants: 1 ml per 100 liters daily
- Aquarium moderately planted: 1 ml per 50 liters daily
- Aquarium heavily planted: 1 ml per 25 liters daily
When in doubt: If you are uncertain about the plant density, start with half of the minimum dose for the first two weeks to help the plants acclimate. The dosage would then be 1 ml per 100 liters per day.
Plant Sensitivity
Some plant species, such as Vallisneria or waterweed, may react sensitively to EasyCarbo, especially if the water is somewhat soft. In such cases, please adjust the dose to half and apply it every other day.
Using Easylife EasyCarbo with CO2 Gas Fertilization
EasyCarbo can be used with or without CO2 fertilization without any issues. In fact, plants tend to grow even better when EasyCarbo and CO2 are used together. This is particularly true for swamp plants like Cryptocoryne and Echinodorus, which will show noticeable improvement.
I forgot to dose one day. What should I do?
It is not a big deal if you skip a day or even a weekend. Just continue with the regular dosing schedule without adding extra to “catch up.”
Can I use EasyCarbo together with CO2 from a gas bottle?
Yes, that is perfectly fine. In fact, marsh plants often have difficulty absorbing CO2 from water. Easylife EasyCarbo helps them absorb it more easily and they clearly benefit from this.
